BIO
Jacob Meehan is a Berlin- and Los Angeles-based DJ, producer and curator with 25 years behind the decks and decades of world-building at the intersection of music, nightlife and queer culture.
Forged in Chicago, Jacob’s musical foundation was shaped by the city’s rich house music legacy and formative years around institutions including Gramaphone Records, WLUW 88.7FM and Smartbar. His practice moves between dance-floor intensity and ambient, deep-listening and sound-healing modalities, connected by an instinct for how music can shape a room and bring people together.
Since relocating to Berlin in 2016, Meehan has become deeply embedded in the city’s queer electronic music community. As an organizer of WHOLE Festival, he works both behind the scenes and as a curator of its ambient program. In 2026, he founded Gay Groove Records as a home for his own productions and close collaborations.
Across these roles, his work reflects a deep understanding of both the music and the systems that hold these spaces together.
